My wonderful friend Miranda has inspired me to work on some new projects this month. I'm completely jealous of her gorgeous photographs, so I decided to stop envying and start creating! April is a slower month for me because I am off of work for three weeks. My days are still hectic and busy, but I have more time to "smell the roses."
Anyway, I am taking the online photography class she mentioned last week. I'm a few days late to the party--the class started on the first. But, I think I'm pretty happy with the first two little assignments I completed.
1. Take 30 steps from your camera and take a picture of what you find.
I was taking a picture of a dew-covered leaf when I noticed this mosquito eater hanging out on the grass. These guys are EVERYWHERE right now and are driving me nuts, so it was actually nice to pay homage to the little beasts by taking a picture of one. I did some cropping and editing of this picture on flickr. I am quite please with the results and am very proud of myself.
2. The other assignment I did was to look up and take a picture of the sky. I took a few shots, but thought this one was pretty interesting. It's a pic of the sun between two trees, taken from our yard. I enhanced the colors a bit and think it doesn't look too bad. What do you think?
Here are a few more I took during my 8:00am tour of my front yard (these are completely unenhanced/edited):
